One Plan. One Team.
Our Services
A dual diagnosis, also called co-occurring disorders, means someone is living with a substance use disorder and a mental health condition at the same time. It’s far more common than most people realize.
Sometimes drinking or drug use starts as a way to quiet anxiety, numb depression, or get through the aftermath of trauma. Other times, substance use makes mental health symptoms worse, or brings new ones to the surface. Either way, the two feed each other.
Importance of Care
When addiction and mental health are treated separately, by different providers with different plans, important pieces fall through the cracks. A person may get sober while their depression goes unaddressed, then relapse when it becomes overwhelming.
At Woodside, one team treats both at once. Your therapists and clinical staff share a single plan, talk to each other, and adjust as you progress.

What We Help With
Our Process
looking at substance use, mental health history, and what's happening in your life right now
focused on the connection between your symptoms and your substance use
including CBT and DBT skills for managing emotions, cravings, and stress
and medication management when appropriate
to help loved ones understand both sides of what you're facing
that includes ongoing mental health support, not just relapse prevention
Dual diagnosis care is available in our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient programs in Atlanta. If you need 24-hour care, we coordinate inpatient treatment through our sister program, Beachside Rehab, in West Palm Beach.
